Triennial Torah Portion for the week of 8-19-2017:
“Care for the poor”
NEW MOON: Tuesday, 8-22-17. We will meet at 7:00pm and have some light grazing/snacking. So bring something to share! Bring games if you like and maybe something we could do outside. It may be fairly hot that day. Hopefully the weather will be good for finding the New Moon! I’m starting to think we should have a prize for the person who spots it first. That could be fun! lol. Thoughts? Anyways, you all have a great day and I hope to see you next week! ~Eleeyah Houtz (save for the grazing comment) 🙂
Special event – “All Israel Fair and Havdallah service.” Eliezar Braun, a resident of Israel and former Israeli ammbassador (with the Israeli consulate in California) will be at the KCEC Pilot View Facility on Saturday evening, September 16th at 6:00PM. We’ll have a time of praise and worship, Eliezer will speak about the land and prophecy tied to the land… and we will close the day with a Havdallah service (a close of Sabbath prayer with some snacks) to include the opportunity to see and purchase the unique and original artwork done by Eliezer’s wife, Ellen.
Yom Teruah (Rosh Hashanah) – September 20th at the KCEC Pilot View facility. We will be gathering at 6:00PM for a potluck meal (please contact us about what to bring if you have never attended one of our gatherings – email@example.com) with a service following the meal.
Yom Kipper (Atonement) – Friday evening September 29th through Saturday evening the 30th. We will gather on Friday evening at the KCEC Pilot View facility for a “pre-fast” meal that will begin no later than 6:00PM because of how early the sun sets at that time of year. This is potluck followed by a service. If you have never attended one of our gatherings, please contact us about what food to bring (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Sukkot – starting the evening of October 4th through the evening of October 12th, Beit Minorah will have its annual Sukkot gathering, this year (again) on the grounds of the KCEC Pilot View facility. For rules and registration, please send an email to email@example.com and put “Send Sukkot packet” in the subject field.
Registration is required for everyone even if you plan to attend only during the days or on the High Sabbaths.
